Online Honda unveils the Step WGN minivan in Japan
A few weeks after the teaser of the all-new sixth generation of honda stepwgn 2022 , Honda officially revealed the minivan on its website.

This announcement was made before the actual appearance of the car for the first time at the Tokyo Motor Show and its launch in the Japanese markets scheduled for the spring of 2022.
The first generation of stepwgn debuted in 1996, which means that this year marks its 25th anniversary.
Honda showed two variants of the new stepwgn, 'Air' and 'Spada', with the final tier being 'Premium line'.
Compared to its predecessor that was introduced in 2015 and got a Facelift in 2017.
the sixth generation looks more elegant, and represents the latest evolution of Honda's design language.
Step WGN minivan design
The minivan adopts a two-box design with a longer front end, large sliding doors, standard 16-inch wheels, and a flat rear.
The LED headlights feature a horizontal line for the car. The front bumper and grille have a slightly different design in the 'Air' and 'Spada' grades.
At the rear there are also vertical LED taillights.

In the cabin there are three rows of seats for up to six passengers, with plenty of legroom and headroom.
The middle row appears to be the most comfortable since the two single driver's seats feature footrests and armrests.

Also, the foldable third row is more comfortable than before thanks to the thicker foam on the seats.
A notable feature of the interior is the upholstery that is easy to clean with water and oil, which seems ideal for families with young children.
The dashboard houses a large 11.4-inch touchscreen, infotainment, and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.
A practical tray above the glove box on the front passenger side, and a set of buttons in the centre console, including the simple switches for the automatic transmission.

Additionally, there is a 15.6-inch roof-mounted screen for the rear passengers.
stepwgn Air features lighter tones and warm colours inspired by the atmosphere of the living room.
while stepwgn spada adopts darker tones and looks more distinct.
Technical Specifications of the Step WGN minivan
According to Honda, the horizontal stripes "stabilize the occupant's field of view" and help reduce motion sickness.
Unfortunately, Honda hasn't released details about the platform and engine line up for the minivan.
However, we already know that it will be available as a hybrid (e: HEV) and petrol only.
The e:HEV will use a two-engine hybrid system with three drive modes, EV (electric only), hybrid (both engines), and motor (petrol - only at higher speeds).
Honda will show a pre-production prototype of the stepwgn 2022 at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
We don't know if the company plans to introduce the minivan outside of Japan but that seems unlikely.
