The program is for building unique, one-off cars based on new and old Porsche cars.

This resulted in a custom Porsche 911 GT3 with Le Mans award-winning paint, last fall.

Meanwhile, the 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera (type 996) was converted into the stunning porsche 911 classic Club Coupe.

The company worked closely with the Porsche Club of America (PCA), the oldest and largest sports car brand's club, on a two-and-a-half year project.

The technical side of the car

Technically, and to some extent visually, the car was transformed into the second generation 911 GT3, including a 3.6-liter engine generating 381 horsepower.

With the chassis and brakes also with GT3 technology for this generation.

Performance details weren't revealed, but it's expected to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in around 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 180 mph.

The idea for the one-of-a-kind car arose at the factory during a meeting between representatives of the Porsche Club and Alexander Fabage, president of Porsche Classic, and designer Grant Larson of Porsche.

To keep it secret, the Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe was known in-factory as Project Gray.

It's a nickname reminiscent of Project Gold for the original 2018 Porsche Classic 911 Turbo (Type 993) with an air-cooled engine.
